Mrs. Haufe has been at Emanuel Lutheran School since 1990. In addition to teaching, she runs the Bowling League for the students and is on the PTFL Board.

Mary Haufe
Fifth Grade Teacher

Mrs. Haufe attended Marymount Manhattan College for a undergraduate degree and went to Stony Brook University where she obtained her Masters.

Mrs. Haufe is married to her husband, Michael, and they have three sons, Michael, John and Patrick.

In her free time Mrs. Haufe enjoys reading, sewing, and spending time with her family.

In 2005, Mrs. Haufe was named Lutheran School Teacher of the Year.
She continues to stay current by attending workshops each year.

 

 

 


 

Mrs. Meyer joined the team of dedicated teachers and staff here at Emanuel Lutheran in 2011,
she knew and felt blessed to be here.

Barbara Meyer-Middle School Teacher
English, Social Studies, Resource Room

Mrs. Meyer recently graduated from Dowling College with a Master’s Degree in Education. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a Foundation Manager for a not for profit organization helping adults and children with Developmental Disabilities.

She also spent three years as a publisher’s assistant for a local newspaper.

In Mrs. Meyer’s free time, her and husband Johnny, like to hike, bicycle ride, and recently, they have taken up kayaking. They have a large family and enjoy every opportunity to spend time together.

Mrs. Meyer’s goal is to provide her students with a stimulating, challenging, student centered learning environment, as well, as an atmosphere, that fosters a firm spiritual foundation through the word of God.



 


 


 

Ms. LaSorsa has been teaching in Lutheran Schools for 12 years.

She has a bachelors degree form Dowling College and a Master’s Degree from  Hofstra Universty.

Mrs. LaSorsa worships regularly at Emanuel Lutheran with her family, including her daughter Marissa.

Mrs. LaSorsa has taught at the elementary level and the middle school level. The majority of her career is in the middle school level. She taught Language Arts, Social Studies, and Religion. Currently she  is teaching Math, Science and STEM. Mrs. LaSorsa’s heart is in Lutheran Education, a Christ centered education.


 


 


 

Joan Stahl – Music Teacher
Kindergarten thru Middle School

Mrs. Stahl has been working at Emanuel Lutheran since 1999.

She expressed how very much she loves working with children in a Christian atmosphere.

Mrs. Stahl has a BS from Wagner College and have taken Graduate courses at Westminster Choir College.

Prior to coming to Emanuel, Mrs. Stahl was a Director of Music at Hope Lutheran Church for over 33 years.

Mrs. Stahl is married to Art Stahl, who is a retired Math teacher from Patchogue-Medford School. Now, Mr. Stahl teaches at Suffolk County Community College. Mr. and Mrs. Stahl have three sons whom are all married.

Some of Mrs. Stahl’s hobbies include counted cross-stitch, gardening and swimming. 


 


 

Wayne Caldicott
Physical Education Director


 


 
Mr. Caldicott is a newcomer as Emanuel Lutheran’s Physical Education Director and Coach!

He is a graduate of Hofstra University. His 31 year career has brought him to Emanuel.

Ms. Learned is a lifelong resident of Nassau County. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish from Hofstra University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Stony Brook University.

Her favorite activity is cheerleading and she coaches a Junior Varsity Team in East Meadow. Apart from teaching and coaching, she also works at a recreation program for children during the summer.

Some of her other favorite things are her dog Bailey, Disney, roller coasters and the beach.
