Mrs. Hannigan has been at Emanuel since 1996. She has a BS Degree from Brooklyn College, a MA from Adelphi University, a MA+6 in Reading from Dowling College.

Joan Hannigan
First Grade Teacher

Prior, Mrs. Hannigan was a substitute teacher in South Country School District for 10 years. She taught PE, here at Emanuel for three years before teaching the first grade in 1999.

Mrs. Hannigan has two daughters. Jennifer is a Paramedic and Stephanie is a Speech Pathologist.

She also has a wonderful husband, Michael, and a cat, named Frankie!

Mrs. Hannigan loves to read and does counted cross-stitch. She is an avid METS fan and enjoys watching baseball and football games.


Mrs. Audia graduated from Georgian Court University where she also attended Graduate School.

Mrs. Audia is married to her husband Bill and they have three children, Billy, Anna and Abbey. Before joining the Emanuel family in 2008, Mrs. Audia was busy raising her son and two daughters. Prior to motherhood she held a variety of teaching positions and was a director of a childcare facility.

Mrs. Audia is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sayville where she serves on the church council as the chair person for the Board of Parish Education, teaches Vacation Bible School and volunteers on other committees.  Her three children and mischievous Greater Swiss Mountain dog keep her busy with sporting events and clubs but in her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading and celebrating life with family and friends. 








Lindsey Bogacz

Ms. B started substituting for Emanuel Lutheran in the 2015-2016 school year.

She has a BA in Anthropology from the University of South Florida and a MS in elementary and Special Education from Liberty University.

Ms. B is currently attending Albany University for a MS in Library Media as well as attending Liberty University for her Ed. S in Educational Leadership.

Ms. B has two children, Caleb and Katelyn. Caleb is a soccer player and boxing champ. Katelyn does gymnastics and dance.

Ms. B loves spending her summers at the 1000 Islands. She also loves scrapbooking, photography, reading, and takes a boxing class herself.



Kristine Houghtalen
Fourth Grade Teacher and Art Teacher



Mrs. Houghtalen has been at Emanuel Lutheran School since 2001 and teaches the fourth grade. She also teaches the Art Class to Kindergarden thru Middle School students.

She has a BA in Speech Communication from SUNY Geneseo and is completing a MA at Dowling.

Mrs. Houghtalen’s family includes her husband and two boys. They are very involved with Boy Scout troop 47 that meets here, at Emanuel.

Some of Mrs. Houghtalen’s hobbies include, reading, kayaking, drawing and painting.
